Fitness center goes high-tech

SAN RAMON, Calif. (AP) - August 24, 2010

All members need is a finger.

The fitness chain is installing fingerprint scanners at its 60 San Francisco Bay area locations.

The so-called "Cardless Check-In" is also going into some gyms in other states.

The Northern California based company says it's a good deal for the chain and for members.

The members don't have to worry about bringing their cards and the company saves the cost of making and mailing club cards.
