Sgt. Paul Shavack says in a press release that 18-year-old Obadiah D. Miller turned himself in shortly after midnight Sunday. Miller is being held without bail on charges of first-degree murder and weapons offenses.
Police have said that the boy, Lionel Butler, was shot in the chest Wednesday while playing outside with a group of other children.
Shavack did not immediately respond to an e-mail Sunday morning asking if Miller had retained an attorney.
