When Richard and Marilyn Smiley visited Paris a couple of months ago, she left her daypack in a French taxi.
The Oregon couple figured they never see the bag again.
But about a week after they got home, the cab driver's daughter called to say the bag had been found.
The Smileys couldn't figure out how they had been located, since there wasn't any I-D in the bag.
They hadn't figured on their digital camera, which had been programmed with the couple's contact info.
Marilyn Smiley tells the East Oregonian they now have a new best friend in Paris.
