Bayer Healthcare to stay in NJ

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - April 5, 2011

Gov. Chris Christie's office announced on Monday about 300 of the jobs will be relocated from New York and 200 more would be created.

The pharmaceutical company could not confirm those numbers.

Bayer currently has offices in Morris Township, Montville and Wayne. But Mayor David Scapicchio told The Daily Record of Parsippany the company is considering the former BASF complex in Mount Olive, which has nearly a million square feet of space.

Bayer Healthcare spokeswoman Rosemarie Yancosek told the newspaper she could not provide details of properties under consideration. A final decision is expected within a few months.
