Man sentenced for 'snow rage' incident

BENSALEM, Pa. - March 30, 2011

Eddie Simmons, 26, was sentenced to three to 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges. A felony assault charge was dropped.

According to investigators, the victim - a subcontractor for Simmons' apartment complex - had been using a snow blower near Simmons' car.

The victim told Action News at the time that Simmons became enraged that his car had been plowed in and demanded that he do something about it.

When the victim told him it wasn't his fault and he should take it up with the office, the victim said Simmons pulled out a gun and said 'you're going to go over there and you're going to get my car.'"

Simmons then allegedly put the gun away and went in his apartment.

The worker was not hurt.

The Bucks County Courier Times reports that, in court, Simmons' lawyer said his client was from North Carolina and was only used to an inch of snow. Simmons 'lost it,' the laywer said, when he saw six feet of snow covering his car.
