Philadelphia police shoot man after car chase

FRANKFORD - June 17, 2011

Investigators say it all started around 2:00 in the morning, when a a car with four men inside stopped at Frankford Hospital and dropped off two of the men because they had gunshot wounds.

After dropping off the wounded the other men drove off, followed by police.

Officers pursued the car for a few blocks until it stopped along the 1700 block of Pratt Street.

Police opened fire, wounding one of the men in the car.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the arm.

He is in stable condition.

There's no word on the whereabouts of the second man in the car.

And police have not indicated if they have details on what led to the first two men getting shot.
