Shots rang out just before 6:00 a.m. near the 300 block of E. Elwood Street.
Police say a total of three bullets were shot at officers. Luckily, no one was hit.
The suspect fled on foot near Elwood Street and Stenton Avenue. Officers stopped traffic from Germantown Avenue to Stenton Avenue as they searched for the suspect.
SWAT teams and K-9 units were called to the scene to assist the search.
A man was found and arrested. However, on Wednesday night, police say the man was not the one who shot at the officers.
Northwest Detectives is currently pursuing several leads to identify the offender.
