RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - January 15, 2012

Rain, A Tribute to the Beatles premiered in Philadelphia several years ago and then went on to become a Broadway and international sensation. Now the show is coming back to the Academy of Music and promises to take Beatles fans for a ride on a wave of nostalgia.

Rain is the story of five lifelong Beatles fans who 'come together' to form a band. But they learned more than just the Beatles music. They added costumes and videos, and mastered every note and gesture of the legendary foursome.

Matt Wolf, VP of Programming at the Kimmel Center said, "These guys are the most talented Beatles imitators that there are in the world. These guys go chronologically from the Ed Sullivan days coming to America; you know the British invasion, all the way through to the end of Abbey Road."

The real Beatles haven't been seen in concert since 1966 but with a repertoire of over 200 songs, RAIN transports you back in time with a theatrical re-enactment of every stage in the Beatle's musical careers.

"They do Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. They do Hard Days Night. It's so much more than seeing a tribute band. It's really the closest thing you're going to see to seeing the Beetles live these days," added Wolf.

RAIN, A Tribute to the Beatles has a 6 day run at the Academy of Music starting January 31st. Go to Kimmel Center for tickets and scheduling.
