Ga. court to hear case of possible gator attack

ATLANTA - February 6, 2012

The Georgia Supreme Court is set to hear arguments in the case Monday. The heirs of 83-year-old Gwyneth Williams say The Landings Association should have taken steps to remove the 8-foot gator. The golf club and homeowners association argue they shouldn't be held liable for wild animals that wander onto the property near Savannah.

It's unclear if the alligator killed Williams. Her mangled body was found in a lagoon patrolled by the gator in October 2007.

The club and the association have argued that Williams may have died from a heart attack before encountering the alligator.
