From new merchandise to new food, Alicia Vitarelli got a sneak peak and taste of all that will be offered this coming baseball season.
"We wanted to feature some ballpark faves but take them in a different
direction," said Jeremy Campbell, Concessions Manager.
New takes on old staples to get your stomach 7th-inning stretched, like buttermilk battered corn dogs with whole grain mustard dipping sauce.
"We don't do a corn dog - why not! That's as baseball as baseball gets," said Campbell.
"Rancho pepper braised pork nachos, a slow roasted porchetta sandwich on artisan bread, and we save the skin and make pork cracklings, which is like icing on the cake for a pork sandwich," Campbell said.
And a side of disco fries cradled in cheese, brown gravy and bacon.
Make sure to save room for a rendezvous down dessert alley featuring Gina's homemade cupcakes.
How about a cannoli cupcake or cinnamon and sugar dunked mini donuts? It is a gourmet selection of sweets to get anyone's attention.
The Phillies are going a little more gourmet this season.
"Gourmet, yet still familiar," said Campbell.
Home gourmands can bring the Phillies flair to their kitchens; cookie cutter, a cake mold shaped like a baseball hat, and a little something to put a Phillies' stamp on your next barbeque.
"You can actually brand a Phillies logo right into your burger, your hot dog, your sausage," said Merchandise Manager Francis Winkey.
There's also a new crop of caps.
"This is a very popular thing that the kids have been wearing," said Winkey. "They have been wearing different critters or panda bears and now we have the fanatic."
And for the pint sized fans, there's the official Phillies diaper.
"It does have a little Phillies 'P' on it, and the fanatic on there as well," Winkey said.
There are pillows, pompoms, even onesies small enough for tiny Phillies fan 5 week old Isabelle.
"She has a big heart for the Phillies," said Isabelle's mom.
