Two arrests in Hunting Park ATV killings

PHILADELPHIA - May 8, 2012

Christopher Lloyd Butler, 31, of the 1300 block of Filmore Street, and Zaiee Talbert, 26, of the 3100 block of Judson Street, have been charged with murder, endangerment and weapons offenses in connection with the killings.

It was the night of Monday March 12th when Philadelphia police and medics were called to the 2900 block of North 9th Street for the report of a double shooting.

Officers arrived to find Dexter Bowie, 17, and Jonathan Stokely, 18, both shot multiple times. Bowie was slumped over on an ATV. Stokely was found lying in the street.

Both teens were taken to Temple University Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Investigators say they found more than 30 shell casings on 9th Street from an AK-47 and a 9mm handgun.

Philadelphia Police Captain James Clark said the teens were riding an ATV when two men fired at them. Police said at the time that the ATV found at the scene had been reported stolen out of northern Pennsylvania.
