A motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon after colliding with a trash truck in Montgomery County.

It happened at 1:00 p.m. on Bethlehem Pike in Upper Dublin, Pa.

Police say an Upper Dublin Township trash truck traveling north was making a right turn on Hagues Mill Road when the motorcyclist, also traveling north, struck the trash truck from behind as it was turning.

Investigators say the motorcycle and its driver ended up under the trash truck. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

That person's identity has not been released pending notification of family members.

Police say there were two people in the trash truck at the time of the collision. Neither was injured.

Bethlehem Pike was closed in both directions between Hagues Mill Road and Tennis Avenue as investigators processed the scene.

Motorists were being advised to avoid the area.
