Firefighters in the Florence, Oregon, area report the first of three workers arrived at a job site early the other morning.
The worker started a fire in the carport to get warm.
Another worker then used an excavator to knock down the burning carport.
A local radio station reports that didn't work.
The fire spread to a Douglas fir tree.
So, the construction workers cut the tree down with a chain saw.
You guessed it.
The 120-foot-tall tree fell on the house.
Fire officials say by the time they arrived it was too late to save the home, which was vacant at the time.
