The accident happened around 5:45 a.m. near the intersection of South 5th and Spruce Streets.
According to police, the 28-year-old victim overturned her SUV and became trapped in the vehicle.
It took firefighters fifteen minutes to free her.
She was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment.
So far, there is no word on her condition.
Investigators have not said what caused the woman to lose control of her SUV.
