Man burned in Newark, Delaware house fire

Two people were hurt when fire tore through a home in Newark, Delaware Wednesday morning.

It was shortly after 11:00 a.m. when firefighters were called out to the report of a house fire on the unit block of Kullen Drive.

When they arrived they found a house fully engulfed in flames.

An adult male was transported to the hospital with burns and is currently in critical condition. In addition, an adult female is being treated for smoke inhalation.

Several cats perished in the fire.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office says damage to the home is estimated at $150,000.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
