McCartney writes on his Web site that he usually ignores media reports about him, but he felt compelled to address the ones about his heart because his friends kept asking him if he's okay.
McCartney says more than a year ago during a routine medical examination, a minor irregularity was discovered. He needed tests and he's been assured he's "completely fine." He says the media distorted that into an angioplasty, "which is entirely untrue."
He says he feels great and he passed his most recent medical exam "with flying colors."
He thanks his friends and fans for their concern, but he admits, "I have secretly been enjoying all the sympathy I've been getting!"
