Aretha "Pelt"-ed by PETA

NEW YORK (AP) - February 21, 2008

PETA's description of the fur: "vulgar." And though they used the term "queen" to describe Franklin, PETA pulled no punches when it came to denouncing her. Here's a sample of what they had to say about her in a press release:

"...you looked as if you were going to perform `I Am the Walrus' by the Beatles."

"You might be a queen, but you don't know jack about compassion."

"How 'bout some R-E-S-P-E-C-T for animals?"

And to show it wasn't just about Aretha, PETA also ripped on Marilyn Manson, Eva Longoria, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss and Kylie Minogue for wearing animal skin or coats.
