Beer week in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - March 5, 2008

It's the city of suds, at least to Philly beer lovers.

Philadelphia is out to prove its claim with Philly Beer Week, a 10-day, 150-event brewski spectacular.

Don Russell, who writes a beer column under the name Joe Sixpack, says Philadelphia is the best beer-drinking city in America.

Historians note Philadelphia founder William Penn had a brewery.

The festival suds start flowing Friday, when Philly Mayor Michael Nutter taps the first keg.
