Robber gets handcuffs for birthday

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - March 11, 2008

Police in Spokane, Washington, claim Butler celebrated his 43rd birthday Sunday with two armed robberies.

According to investigators, Butler first tried robbing a Rite Aid.

Officers say about a-half hour later, Butler claimed he had gun and got an undisclosed amount of money and checks from a Shopko store.

Soon afterward police received a tip about money and checks in the street.

Butler's car was stopped and he was arrested based on witness descriptions.
