Woman paralyzed by shooting receives van

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. - March 17, 2008

A gunman shot her in the back. Doctors at Temple brought her back to life, but Perez was left paralyzed.

The shooting robbed her of her independence.

On Monday, Conicelli Honda in Conshochocken gave her a gift that will give her back some of that independence.

The dealer donated a wheelchair accessible van.

Temple Hospital told Conicelli that she needed a van. NBA star Kobe Bryant, who has ties to the area, helped pay for the van.

Perez has two children.

She smiled as she received the van. And she joked that she might go shopping.
