NJ councilman faces child porn charges
BRIGANTINE, N.J. (AP) - April 12, 2008 State and federal authorities raided Richard Casamento's home at
about 6 a.m. Friday.
State police say child pornography images and video were found
on several computers in Casamento's house.p>
State police Sgt. Stephen Jones says that besides perusing child
porn, Casamento also sent files to others.p>
Casamento was arrested and taken to state police offices in
Atlantic City, where he was later released.p>
Casamento has been on the Brigantine City Council since the
mid-1990s.p>
Phone and e-mail messages left for Casamento weren't immediately
returned Saturday.p>
