Wilmington homicide suspect caught in N.C.

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - May 2, 2008 U.S. Marshals say 26-year-old James Friend was arrested Wednesday evening after Wilmington police received information about where he could be found.

Friend was wanted for the Feb. 2. shooting death of 24-year-old Curtis Matthews. The victim was shot about 4 a.m. in the 1300 block of East 24th Street. He died later at Wilmington Hospital.

Friend is now in custody awaiting extradition from North Carolina.
