This energy bar is no bull

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - May 12, 2008

The Tanaka Bar from Native American Natural Foods is based on a traditional jerky-like recipe combining buffalo meat and cranberries.

Now, distribution of the Tanka Bar is going national.

The company is based on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

Co-owner Mark Tilsen says they have customers ranging from athletes to diabetics looking for a high protein, low fat snack.

The company is now looking to expand its product line with buffalo-based summer sausage.
