A 13-year-old boy faces burglary charges after allegedly stealing video games from homes in Long Branch, then bringing them to stores and trying to return them for cash. The plan unraveled when a store clerk - who was a victim of one of the break-ins - saw his own stuff trying to be returned to the store.

Police say the boy's mother and stepfather drove him to the store to try to return the merchandise.

Detectives say they knew the stuff was stolen, but did not participate in stealing it from five houses.
