Philadelphia police are tracking possible clues in a cell phone as they investigate the rape and slashing of an 18-year old girl at a City Avenue motel Wednesday night. It happened just before 10 p.m. at the North American Motor Inn at 4444 City Avenue in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.

Police say the victim is a senior at Kensington High School who told her family she was going out of town. They don't know why she ended up in a third floor room at the motor inn, where she says she was bound with a shirt, raped, and slashed across the neck. The woman remains in the intensive care unit at Jefferson University Hospital.

Police say a several calls were made from a cell phone found in the room, and they are seeking search warrants based on the information from the calls. Detectives believe that the attacker was known to the victim.
