A tractor trailer flipped onto its side at about 5:15 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Route 22 between 4th and 13th streets.
A helicopter transported the critically injured driver.
A second accident happened immediately behind the tractor trailer. That crash involved a number of other vehicles. A third crash has also happened farther back in the jam behind the tractor trailer.
