The state medical examiner has ruled the death of a maintenance worker at a Delmar chicken-feed mill accidental. Forty-six-year-old Herbert Mitchell of Millsboro was buried under an avalanche of soybeans as he tried to fix equipment at the bottom of a silo at the Allens Hatchery on Wednesday. Two other workers escaped.

The company says it was a freak accident. State police investigated the incident and found no wrongdoing and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which investigates all workplace injuries, is probing the incident.
