Specter on Medicare improvements

PHILADELPHIA - June 27, 2008 Last night, the Senate voted on the Patients and Providers Act.

This measure would require substantial cuts in physician payments.

Senator Specter voted against the act, saying there was no room to offer amendments.

He said after the July 4 recess, there will be time to address the matter again and added that there will be no cuts in physicians compensation.
