Police department speed device stolen

IRWIN, Pa. (AP) - July 8, 2008

That's because North Huntingdon Township police say someone stole a stolen speed timing device from a utility pole.

The aluminum box flashes a message to motorists that says, "Your Speed" above the numerical speed of oncoming drivers. The device is meant to let drivers know if they're going too fast.

Police say the device was stolen sometime Saturday or Sunday.

The Speed Sentry 12 unit is manufactured by a company called Dectar and is sold by Traffic Solution, a company in State College.
