Tree falls at rec center

PHILADELPHIA - August 9, 2008 Police tell Action News that when the tree fell someone in the party saw it going down and was able to get the two infants from their stroller.

A 35-year-old woman was under the tree when it fell and she was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with leg injuries.

Another woman, in her 30's, was also transported to HUP because of her nerves after the accident.

The two infants were transported to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for evaluation.

It happened Saturday afternoon at the Meyers Recreation Center at 57th Street and Kingsessing Avenue.

It remains unclear why the tree fell.
