Not a lot of money is spent on yarn

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - September 30, 2008

The southern Indiana woman knits teeny tiny sweaters, gloves and socks.

She uses surgical needles to make her miniature clothes.

Merback's tiny garments have caught the attention of the art world.

Her work was part of an exhibit called "Radical Lace and Subversive Knitting" at New York's Museum of Arts and Design.

Merback says she started her micro-knitting for a doll house she wanted to build for her triplets.

She never finished the doll house, but she's minded her mini-knitting ever since.
