More than a dozen people were trapped when fire set into their Atlantic City apartment building. Flames were first reported just after 10:00 p.m. Sunday inside an electronics store at the intersection of Mont Pelier and Atlantic Avenue.

The residents who lived in the apartments above the store were unaware of the fire until it was too late for an escape.

The fire department arrived and quickly struck a second alarm.

Firefighters were able to reach the residents, rescuing 15 people.

The fire was brought under control with no injuries.
