Man charged with murder in Deptford

DEPTFORD, NJ - February 20, 2009 - Police say the body of 39-year-old Roland Webster's was found in 46-year-old Donald Hetrick's apartment around 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

An autopsy conducted Friday found multiple stab wounds to Webster's torso, including fatal wounds to the chest that penetrated a lung and his heart.

Police say Webster was a neighbor of Hetrick, and his body was found in Hetrick's apartment.

Webster's body was found by Hetrick's mother.

Webster's mother told investigators her son had purchased a table from Hetrick and was planning to pick it up from his neighbor.

Hetrick had been arrested Wednesday night on weapon possession and aggravated assault charges after he left Nipper's Tavern on Route 47 in Deptford Township.

Deptford Township police officers apprehended him about 150 yards from the tavern.

He is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated assault, stemming from allegedly pulling a knife in an encounter with an employee at Nipper's.

Hetrick is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Bail was set at $250,000.
