Drug deal shooting leaves two dead

Two people are dead after a shooting stemming from a drug deal in Southwest Philadelphia.It happened along the 6500 block of Cobbs Creek Parkway shortly after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, Jermaine McAllister, 23, of Philadelphia, was attempting to make a drug purchase when another man, Ivairve Cotto, 25, of Reading, attempted to rob him.

Investigators say they both shot each other, and were taken to the hospital.

Both were pronounced dead.

Cotto's death was ruled a homicde and McAllister's death was ruled a casualty of self-defense.
