"Not guilty" from Craigslist slaying suspect

BOSTON (AP) - June 22, 2009

/*Philip Markoff*/ entered the plea to seven charges related to three attacks during his arraignment in Suffolk Superior Court.

Prosecutors say the 23-year-old upstate New York native lured Julissa Brisman of New York City to a Boston hotel in April after she advertised in the "exotic services" section on Craigslist. Markoff is accused of binding Brisman during a violent struggle then shooting her in the chest.

Markoff also pleaded not guilty to the armed robbery of a Las Vegas woman at another Boston hotel, as well as kidnapping and weapons charges. He's also accused in an April attack on a woman in Warwick, R.I.
