Boy hospitalized after pulled from pool

BRIGANTINE, N.J. - July 1, 2009 The incident happened before 6:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the Celebrity Resorts Pool in the 1400 block of Ocean Avenue in Brigantine.

Fire fighter-EMT's, under the command of lieutenant Christopher Solari, responded to the report of a drowning victim at the pool.

Brigantine police officer Thomas Carberry was first to arrive on scene, and found the victim, described as a boy under the age of 6, had been pulled from the pool by a bystander, and immediately began to clear the victim's airway.

Fire crews soon arrived on the scene.

Firefighter EMT's Greg Goff and Robert Sooy arrived and immediately began resuscitation efforts on the boy.

The boy was taken to Atlanticare Regional Center City division.

His condition is still not known.

There was reportedly no life guard on duty when the incident occurred.
