Sixty-one-year-old Randall Sommovilla was arrested Friday night and charged Saturday with trying to smuggle drugs to a female inmate at the Delaware County Prison.
Delaware County District Attorney Mike Green said Saturday afternoon that tests show the drugs were heroin. Police then searched Sommovilla's car outside the prison and found more illegal items.
Sommovilla faces more than 2 years in prison if convicted.
