Triple murder suspect rejects plea deal

EASTON, Pa. - January 7, 2010

Twenty-two-year-old Ali Elijah Davis on Thursday rejected an agreement with prosecutors to plead guilty to four counts of third-degree murder in two separate cases.

Davis, of Freemansburg, and another man are charged with the execution-style shootings of 19-year-old Aleah Hamlin, 23-year-old Chanel Armour and 21-year-old Alphe Rene in November 2007. Thirty-three-year-old Lewis Gray of East Orange, N.J. is being tried separately in the shooting in Easton, about 50 miles north of Philadelphia.

Prosecutors say the slayings may have been in retaliation for killings in New Jersey.

Davis is also charged with killing a New York man in 2007 in Easton.
