Bucks County police search for Bristol bandit

Police say the man struck twice, claiming to have a concealed weapon.

He robbed a 56-year-old woman in a Wawa parking lot about 5:00 a.m one week ago. As she was getting into her car, he demanded her purse, authorities say.

"When she refused, he placed his right hand in his jacket pocket and said 'give me your purse and I won't shoot you," Lieutenant Chcik McGuigan of the Bristol Township Police.

For bartender Jody Rice, this rare occurrence is deeply concerning.

"I use to come [to WaWa] after work at 2 in the morning sometimes; this is very shocking. You have to watch wherever you're at nowadays," Rice said.

Within 90 minutes that same morning, just before sunrise, the same bandit struck again just a few miles down Bristol Pike. The victim this time was a 60-year-old man using the ATM at a Wachovia bank branch.

Again, the robber implied he had a weapon; this time he placed an unknown object in the victim's back. The subject fled over route 13 and headed south.

He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, with a mustache and goatee.

"In both incidents, the actor implied he had a weapon and neither victim was injured," McGuigan said.

If you know the man, you are asked to call Bristol Township Police at 215-788-8289.
