The fire broke out at 10:00 Sunday morning in the garage of a home on the unit block of Pierson Drive at Wellington Hills.
The fire quickly extended to the house, causing heavy damage.
One male resident was transported to Christiana Hospital with second-degree burns and several firefighters were treated on scene for minor injuries.
It took fire crews over an hour to get the fire under control. Icy roads and lack of hydrants nearby slowed down the process.
No word on a cause at this time.
