Del. storm costs unclear from lastest snowstorms

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - February 12, 2010

DelDOT spokesman James Westhoff tells the Wilmington News Journal that the department will "sit around with some calculators" once crews have cleared roads that have been covered for the better part of a week.

A spokesman for Wilmington Mayor James M. Baker says the city has spent $1.13 million on storm costs since December. He says the city will likely have to consider drawing from its reserve funds because it only budgeted $230,000 on storms for the fiscal year.

The state may not be finished with storm costs as more snow is forecast for Monday.
