It happened around 9:00 p.m. Thursday at 29th and Thompson in the Brewerytown section of Philadelphia.
Police say the teen was shot while sitting in the backseat of a car.
Investigators say the driver of that car drove the teen to Temple Hospital in extremely critical condition. He was stabilized and transported to St. Christopher's Hospital.
Police say the teen was involved in some sort of a "disturbance" with other males before the gunfire rang out, and he was in the car with siblings and other family members.
An investigation into this shooting continues.
