The deceased female is believed to be middle-aged. She was found lying on her side in a creek.
Neighbors tell Action News that another woman, who was babysitting in the area, decided to take a walk along the creek when she found the body.
The creek is a well known cut through to a neighborhood bar. Residents familiar with the woman, whose identity has not yet been released, say she was a regular there. Police say there were no obvious signs of foul play, but there are plenty of questions.
Neighbors also say a man, clearly distraught and claiming to know the dead woman, was on the scene. He said he had not been able to contact the woman he was looking for since Monday.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
