Citizens Bank Park puts hot dogs on the ballot

PHILADELPHIA - March 22, 2010

Three new hotdogs will be served up at the start of this season. Then, phans will be asked to vote for their favorite.

The winner will be served all season long.

The South Philly dog is served with broccoli rabe, spicy peppers and sharp provolone.

The Old Philadelphia Dog has Amish pickled hash, cucumber and yellow mustard.

And the Citizens Bank Park Summer Dog is served on a pretzel roll, with onion and tomato relish, and ancho pepper sauce.

When asked about the contest, park officials say hot dogs are the food you think of when you think of baseball, so it was time for an upgrade.

Fans can also look for other treats this season like milkshakes, french fries, kettle corn and iced coffee.
