DELMAR, Del. (AP) - April 20, 2010

The Division of Public Health announced Monday that with the fifth case, diagnosed over the weekend, said the cases meet the official definition of a chickenpox outbreak.

Officials say the students diagnosed with chickenpox have recovered at home or remain at home to curb the spread of the illness. Health officials say they are monitoring the spread of the illness.

Chickenpox is not considered a serious disease and there is no specific treatment. Symptoms include aches, fever, fatigue, irritability, sore throat and an itching, blistering rash, but people typically recover within five to 10 days.
