Second man sought in Delaware rape

WILMINGTON, Del. - April 28, 2010

Warrants have been signed for Gurcharahji Singh, charging him with the crime.

His last known address is 3314 Old Capitol Trail. Singh is not in custody, police said, and is believed to have fled to New York City.

Singh is not related to the first man arrested in this case, Kaharak Singh, who was arrested on April 17th.

The rape itself happened on April 14th.

The victim told investigators she was abducted from a parking lot in Wilmington as she used her cell phone outside the Sante Fe Restaurant at about 11:15 p.m.

She said she was forced by two men into a vehicle that had up to five people in it. She said they drove the car around town while at least two of the men sexually assaulted her repeatedly for about three hours.

The car finally stopped just after 2:00 a.m. and pushed her out along the 1700 block of Old Cooch's Bridge Road in Newark, Delaware.

The victim went to some nearby homes for help.

Police are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Malcolm Stoddard at 576-3641; callers may remain anonymous.
