It happened around 1:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes in the area of Churchman's Marsh.
The pickup truck flipped over and it took rescuers about 45 minutes to free the driver.
Once the man was freed, at least one lane was opened but others remained closed while the vehicles were removed.
Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes.
Southbound traffic was already slow because of early weekend travelers.
