Blind owl becomes adoptive mother

Samantha, a great horned owl at a Washington state rescue shelter, is playing surrogate to 7 orphaned owlets.

And she is doing all of this while being blind.

Samantha is teaching the 7 owlets how to survive on their own, even teaching them to fly.

But Samantha will start to get that "empty nest" feeling next week, when some of her adopted young ones are released into the wild.

Samantha was found on a road clinging to life a decade ago. She had been struck by a car.
