Police: NJ flasher blocked highway at rush hour

MIDDLETOWN, N.J. (AP) - July 22, 2010

Authorities say the trooper confronted 23-year-old Arika Felder of Plainfield at around 6 p.m. Tuesday after she parked her car across three northbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway in Middletown and got out of the vehicle.

As the trooper approached, Felder ran to her car and drove off. She allegedly dragged him for about 20 yards, then crashed into a concrete barrier. The trooper suffered minor injuries.

Felder wasn't hurt, but was committed to a state psychiatric facility. She's charged with aggravated assault on a trooper, eluding and resisting arrest.

It wasn't known if she had an attorney.
