M.E.: 1 dead in Chester double shooting

CHESTER, Pa. - July 24, 2010

Sources tell Action News that just before 4:00 a.m. gunfire rang out in front of J&S Seafood.

They say a group of younger people had congregated while waiting for takeout food.

During this time an argument broke out and one of the men pulled out a gun and began to fire striking a man and a woman.

The victims were taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

The Medical Examiner tells Action News the 21-year-old male victim died at the hospital.

The woman is said to be in stable condition.

With this incident, three people have been shot in Chester in less than 24 hours since the state of emergency was lifted Friday.

Another shooting took place shortly before 1:00 p.m. Friday at West Union and Pennell Streets.

Police say a 27-year-old man was shot once in the back.

He is listed in critical condition.
